Guys

Previous week, I have found dozens of websites ranking only d0 follow comment links.

I have analyzed every link they got one by one and surprisingly they were all d0 follow comment links.

I am surprised because every SEO guru here is saying "stay away from blog comments, they are shitty backlinks, they won't help you
Then how could this happen?

They have 300+ backlinks from DA 50+ websites and all of them are blog comment.

Where are they landing at on google?

They could have pbn's not being picked up. Depending on the site blog comments can be great. Especially high traffic sites that need to approve the comment.

I think the big debate is mass blog comments by bot vs handpicked well written - adding to the conversation comments on selected sites.

There are thousands of active websites and their blog comments are auto-approved and d0follow

I build a leading niche magazine on blog comments, lol. I bought it once at the beginning and my positions skyrocketed. Never bought backlinks for the website since. Always reached first page for the articles that I added. So yeah, blog comments work great from my experience. I'd say it's ideal for TIER 2 websites that promote your TIER 1.

Know of any method to find auto-approved and d0follow comment sites?
Use ahrefs

These websites are using them for TIER 1 and seems like they are working for them too

Well you need both, you need high quantity of quality links. One TF 50 link does not equal to 30 TF 10 links.

Yes it still counts as good backlinks from quality website or blog which have good TF/CF in manual commenting.

There are still some good blog commenting sites. And if you are getting do follow backlinks from blog commenting from high authority sites, then go for them. And they could have been pbns as well. Look for their rankings after some days.

Manual blog comment on niche relevant blogs still work, Yeah

Never listen to the gurus who tell you to not do shit. If i listened to these guys I would have never ranked a site - I think there's a portion of them who spew that garbage to intentionally sway people and lessen their competition. (P.S. I'm not sure blog comments can be a main linkbuilding tactic, but I know damn well that it won't hurt your site)

I will be the first person to say blog comments are great.

For a while, @Nargil and I tested them to spike metrics of domains in a PBN. (He doesnt do that, I was the guy who wanted to test it. He was, and is a 100% domain scrapping guy. He is amazing).

I have used blog comments to:

1. Rank low and up to medium comp kws on fresh domains (Post 2013 spam crack downs)
2. Gain referral traffic.
3. Build relationships for guest posts.
4. Index tier one links.
5. Rank Parasites.
6. Vastly improve web 2.0 metrics (to rank higher comp kws).
7. Etc.

I love blog comments. Always have. Always will. Unlike a PBN link, I can build a relationship and have been invited into money site networks and gained guest posts.

The problem now?

They do not move the ranking needle by themselves.

If you ranked before 2017 with blog comments you should keep your ranking. After?

Many of us have tested this. It can happen (google is random) but if I see a site ranking with blog comments, I guarantee they are using a PBN.

Blog comments are missing the relevance, the contextual, the google favor and the obl tends to vastly reduce power.

It can happen. I will never say never. But I am willing to bet my last dollar that a PBN is behind this.

@lightningblitz you are the one who only shares true information. I have read all your articles. You are my mentor :) especially your web 2.0 guides!

Your comment is important because most SEO gurus on this forum is saying "blog comments are useless" but these websites are ranking on Google.

And I am not an expert If a website is using PBN or not but these sites are targeting 500-600 monthly search volume keywords. I dont think there is PBN behind them.

If you are interested, I would like to send these websites for you to analyze. Maybe we can find out something new for ranking.

Im a bit sparce on time, but I can tell you a few things about hidden links:

1. Moz, majestic and ahrefs are not great about picking up web 2.0s (and subdomains).

2. I have used pbns for 100 monthly search term - it can be that profitable.

I appreciate the kind words. The sites may not have PBN links, but if the comp is above low, something else exists except blog comments.

Then again, it could be just a couple web 2s or pbn links.
