Is it the future of virtual reality?

What do you guys think about this? is it the future of virtual reality?

What we are looking at is the shell of something much bigger.
Right now VR is very limited, household computers are not strong enough to handle more advanced environments, and VR rendering is primitive.
Controls are okay, but also limited, especially walking is impossible in real life without some sort of a spinning wheel underneath. (And that is very primitive)

Let's look at the implant technology, the biorobotic hands right now. It required the input from the muscle endings to extend the hand and control it slowly.
Now the most advanced implants don't need muscle connections, it reads the electromagnetic impulses from your mind through the nerve endings.
And people actually start feeling the fingers as real when the mind adapts to a new extension of your body.

Now let's look at the current VR situation, and the way we connect to the computer characters online. We use the input method and in online cases - the internet - giving 'life' to a virtual body.

Now what if, in the near future (and i can go all in on this) we will have the possibility to connect to a virtual character through the nerve endings and learn to control the virtual character's limbs
without any heavy stuff mounted on our body.

That is the future of VR, when we outgrow the crappy junk and learn to convert the electricity between human and the virtual body.
