one of the victims is my family member so please no jokes in this matter , thank you

Horrific, I think we failed as Tech World.
I mean that's something we can easily solve using technology (smoke sensor + Instant alert)

Have you ever been near a forest in the summer in a place where temperatures get high?

The conditions were perfect for such a huge fire.
The wind was over 10 Beaufort and the temperatures were high.

The fire expanded so fast that the head of the firefighting service said "Even if we had 10 times the man-power,we wouldnt be able to stop that"

People fell into the sea to stay alive, and even if they had their full body in the sea, they were burned to the faces just from the heat.

Terrible news. I am very worried about greek people. Sometimes I feel so blessed to live in Lithuania. We have all four seasons, an access to the sea, plenty of underground water, no earthquakes, extreme floods or anything.

Nope but still fast alert and fast evacuation could have saved some lives.

Yeah,I agree with that. A proper plan of evacuation could have saved them all.

Early in the morning 26 people were found dead at a "tavern" cause they chose the wrong roads to evacuate and came in front of a cliff, with huge rocks and the sea below.

Or many others, older people, didnt want to leave their houses and tried to save them with just a water hose. Disaster.

If it was that easy, there wouldn't be any problems ever. The fire burnt the houses within 30 minutes, only those who left within the first 10 minutes managed to get out safely. And see my comment bellow on why the rest couldn't leave.

It didn't help that the whole place was built without design, meaning that there was only 1 way out without any secondary ones. Once that got cut, they couldn't get out by land and getting on the shore also wasn't possible for everyone for the same reason (dead-end roads).

In short, chronically bad city design, very rapid spread of the fire, people trapped with very limited chances of getting away. No plan whatsoever in case of a disaster. Same thing happened recently on a different area near the capital where they had just built again with no plan stopping the streams and once a big rainfall happened, tons of dirt came down the mountain and destroyed everything. No plans on stopping that (predictable) disaster either.
