- May I know which VPN , you are using?
If you are using some good VPN services then your connection will always be encrypted regardless the protocol.

if you use IPSEC, I guess you don't use a dedicateed ibvpn app, but their config file, am I right?

In this case, IPSec is your only best option.

i am using the ibvpn app for ios. they have three protocols available: ipsec, ikev2 and openvpn as their latest addition to protocols in their ios app.
