Why Wikipedia still showing in Google???

Hi Friends,
How Wikipedia results are showing in Google serp since they are not following any of the google rules
Ex: we are using hyphen in our url but Wikipedia using underscore and still they are top
How???????

Massive interlinking, massive backlinks, massive content, (most likely) awesome CTR. You won't beat wikipedia with a hyphen.

There's no hard rule about hyphens vs underscore. Wikipedia has tons of authority and relevant content, which are way more important metrics than url structure.

It is the best. Hands down. Period. And Google knows it that it has the information that people want to read. And the Hyphen? Seriously?

when visiting websites and you find the domain starting with en or m it usually represents the version of the site in a different subdomain for example a domain starting with en.domain.com is usually the english version of a website or m which represents the mobile version.

Good content, backlinks and CTR outweigh sub-optimal url structure. But there is something to be said for the claim that there is a double standard in Google's treatment. If you put together a site with super quality content, links and CTR (even surpassing that of Wiki) your defective urls would cost you, while Wikipedia gets away with it. G favors big brands over lesser brand or non-branded sites.

The kind of content that they have which is relevant to what user searches for in the search engine. Also, the backlinks they have matter a lot.

I don't know about your countries, but in Germany Wikipedia is really worse. Its like a propaganda machine. There are some documentaries on YouTube how Wikipedia Germany is being used by a group of powerful moderator and also Administrator to manipulate articles (especially when it comes to politics or historical articles) by removing important parts, adding weird and unproven parts, insulting people, blocking user and so on. Its actually pretty crazy.

A few weeks ago I was reading something similar is happening in Norway and also in the UK (search for "Philip Cross").
