I was wondering what you guys think is the best hosting for long term projects. I found ipage which offers a free domain + 3 years hosting, and domain privacy for 1 year for $82. Seems like a good deal but maybe I’m being mislead? I also like that you can host unlimited domains, currently I have 3 but would like to add 3-5 more in the future.

It really depends on what type of web hosting that you need. If you looking for something like shared hosting the recommendation would be different than if you needed a Dedicated server. So maybe a little bit more info on what you are looking to do would get you a few more recommendations.

I mainly use Power Up Hosting on my SEO projects with up to XXX,XXX visitors a month. A lot of smallish sites on the same account. I pay for SSL and dedicated proxies for several sites.
I end up paying a few hundred a year for the bulk of my sites. If I have an issue they fix it. If I need a site transfered over they do it.
After experiencing hosts like GoDaddy and Hostgator years ago, I am extremely satisfied.
The longest wait I have had is 8 hours for a solution. That was when my previous registrar and host (I bought a site) wouldnt approve transfer after I paid Power Up Hosting for three additional years.
Basically, the transfer was approved but previous registrar (godaddy) never released the domain. The issue occured when I had to renew.
Power Up Hosting contacted GoDaddy for me and had all domains on the account switches over for me.
A+ customer service. And the tier 3 service providers help with stupid, or complex questions.
