I've been trying to think of some ways to earn extra income. I'd like to hear opinions if sites like these could be flipped. I'd create a WordPress site with a premium theme. I'd add to it about 100,000 thousand words of handwritten content. Good content. I wouldn't do any SEO whatsoever or even try to monetize it. The goal would just be to sell it to someone wanting to build Adsense revenue or something along those lines. The whole goal of making the site would be to flip it and nothing else.
Can sites like these be flipped?

I've tried it few months ago ( around 70k words, good articles with images and everything, premium theme, seo optimized, etc ), but I didn't sold it. I think it depends about the website ( the niche of it, how it looks like, how good the content is ) and also about your luck.
Did you put a reserve on it? If so, how much were you asking? I thought about just starting it out on Flippa for a dollar and see where it goes.
I kind of want some faster cash than that. Doing SEO would take longer. I'd like to get somewhere between 500-1000 dollars. That would be ideal.

If you can create 100K words content then its better to create few sites in different niche and monetize, selling without any SEO and monitization will not be profitable. Either you will not get any buyer or site bid will be in penny.

WordPress site without income will be sold for 1$ to 5$ so you need to make 500-1000 sites and it may take years to sell, so its better to try something else for the kind of money you are looking for.

Honestly, you would be wasting a lot of your time and money building a site without having a plan on how to monetize it. A lot of people buy sites because it is making some $ per month.
It would be much easier if you jv with someone who will do the SEO while you do the content writing.
On the other hand, if you are looking for quick money, and you are good in writing, you can offer your writing service for cheap and I am sure you will have more orders than you can complete. I have seen this happen again and again in BHW.

There's a guy on flippa selling crap websites. Scraped duplicated content, no rankings/visitors/earnings. From what I see, he's had 670 listings so far, selling websites 50-150$ a pop. You'd think no one would buy that crap but he's raked in $200k in sales thus far...
On the other hand, paying $500-1000 for a website with no visitors and earnings seems a bit far fetched.

If you write a blog, google indexes it and its good content then it starts ranking eventually . Then it can be sold but that takes months sometimes
