Our company based in Australia recently got our Stripe account frozen due to high dispute rates, we are given 30 days to find alternative payment provider.
We sell completely legit software subscriptions, but many of the customers simply forget to cancel their subscription and get angry when they found out they have been billed for months without using the software. Or they simply forgot what they have signed up for and think we are trying to "steal" their money.
Our dispute ratio ranges from 0.5% ~ 1.5% monthly, not really that high, and our subscription fees are pretty cheap averaging only $15 USD per transaction. We have processed over 1 Million through Stripe and our monthly turnover is 25k USD.
The main issue with choosing a new provider is that, we need to be able to migrate all the recurring customer data to the new PCI AOC verified provider (Stripe will only send data to these providers), the easiest way would be migrating card data to third party vault like Spreedly, and sign up for another payment gateway that Spreedly support. I have gotten in touch of all the payment gateway in Australia that Spreedly supports, but unable to get approval for our account because they were either
1. Panicking at $250 dollar worth of monthly chargeback once i told them my story with Stripe (trying to be honest here).....
2. Doesn't approve websites selling digital subscriptions
Anyway, I hope someone could offer some insight, or perhaps a way for us to continue doing our business
