Instagram Mentions

Has anyone had experience with Instagram mentions and if so what were the results?

Can be effective, easy to move into spammy territory and get called out if you over do it.

Reposting an image and then adding mentions to some of the users who engaged with the original image (or who are followers of the original account that posted the image) although is quite spammy, people don't seem to mind, and will usually come along and then engage with your image (eg like). Whereas mentioning long lists of users in comments tends to annoy people a bit more if over done

There are many instagram bots available that will allow you to scrape the followers of an account. Outputting the results as IDs / Profile URLs / Usernames etc
 
Using comments has been a tactic for a while. However mentioning in the comments is beginning to become harder and harder. It is perhaps one of the most tedious Instagram action to perform as of now. My team and I were developing a way to seem honest while using it, but for monetizing the action. We were quickly put to a halt as we began to notice more and more blue ticks swarming to the CPA scheme, tagging millions of people in the process. If you did not know, Instgram allows blue ticks to get away with certain activities. One of which is tagging an insane amount of people without getting in trouble. As a result, an insane amount of people report this action. So, we are assuming that when Instagram fixes this mishap they will put harder restrictions on the "mention by comment" action. My best advice, although it could be wrong, would be to wait for them to respond to the blue tick epidemic, then try to make a bot that can complete said function. On the other-hand, the results are dependent on how you use the mentions. You can easily make $1,000's in a day with the function, or get all your accounts banned. It depends on how you utilize it. They can get good results, but also result in alot of your post being reported because alot of people dont want their account being mentioned. I just recently got a mention bot coded which bypasses the rate limits, which in turn does give good reach.. but depending on what you're promoting will determine how quickly the account will last. Tbh, if I had to do it without the exploit, I dont think I would because limit set on how many people you can mention at a time is to low to bring any significant traffic. So to answer your question, unless you're doing it from a verified account(which allows unlimited mentions per post) or bypassing the rate limit via exploit than no its not worth it. There are smm services out there that sell this service, only downfall is theyre doing it fro verified accounts and the posts die as soon as the original owner gets their account back. IG seems to be snatching them back much faster now that there have been alot of them being cracked.

Verified accounts method is also patched, now the limit is 200 comments at a time

I asked the question because i have been using the method for a while... And i haven't seen any improvement.

I've contacted a few mentions providers and all of them said mentions doesn't work anymore.
