Moving negative sources from Google 1st page

My client wants me to move negative sources from Google's 1st page.
The problem is that negative sources are latimes. com and cbsnews.
They are very authority sites.
What advice can you give me?

It's very hard to beat such authority sites. It takes time but the option I could think of is seo. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You mean moving negative sources away from G's 1st page? Well that's practically impossible to do, since the SERP is controlled 100% by G - and with spam links having no power whatsoever, I think this task would be impossible since your target sites are all authority news sites.
But if you were wanting to beat these sites, I doubt having an overnight website would do. But another high authority sites can do the trick - how much would your client be willing to pay for such a site?
The only overnight way to beat those high authority sites would be to buy adwords - put a high bid and you're there.

Before you do anything else, you might want to try social media for that. it works really well for ranking names. Having a popular linkedin, instagram, facebook, twitter will suppress it by 4 spaces down.

My advice is to find an SEO who can do it for you.
And no one can reply to your question as you did not say the positions of negative sources (not top, right?) or the other 8 results.
But budget should be 4 figures.

It's doable, but it takes time and money. You can start with press releases, video - YouTube, Vimeo etc. social profiles - keep them active. Build the second tier links to PR and video, I didn't find it very helpful for social profiles.
