What was your first SEO project, failed or succeeded?

My first SEO project was my first site 10 years ago, an affiliate site; it made 6 figures in profit, so this was a success.

My First project was Themeempeople.com from Britain which was a very successful project for me as an SEO prospect and I rank it first position on SERP 2 years ago.

You both are lucky as you made success of your very 1st project

My first SEO project was a break even. Didn't know what I was doing. Still don't. But still thriving through the mud for a better future.

Have stopped seo for the moment to focus on a more direct approach. In your Face tactic.

My first one succeeded I would say, just not to it's maximum potential.

It's an Amazon affiliate site in the tools niche. I say that it hasn't succeeded to it's maximum potential because the main keyword has never hit #1. It's currently sitting at #3. The whole site makes about $200 a month, it's about 3.5 years old and the only thing I've done to it in the past year was restructure it to make it into a silo.. haven't touched it otherwise.

I should probably just build some links to try push it to the top but I'm too focused on my latest site at the moment :D

Game hack niche. Slapped it with SEnuke/BMR links. $50k profit and a legal threat from a 7 figure company.

My first journey was of ranking an affiliate site but I failed horribly . But anyways I did gain a lot of knowledge on how SEO really works.

My first project was about facebook fails.
It was good!

Been doing blackhat 10 years back, and first project involved using SB blasts that was a brief success. Link comments were so powerful last time that it broke the internet.
Since link comments have been tweaked and reduced in its link juice, article links were next.
Article links stuck for the next 6 years, and it was wonderful.
Now, all these links are really useless after the multiple updates.

It's running well. The problem is that the offline world will start to depend on you - family, your girlfriends, some friends. Think about that, and make you're prepared for that.

its was at the time i didnt even knew what was seo and i was kind of trying to promote my gaming website just for fun to invite more people to my gaming server. So i was kind of using many techniques of seo in it like backlink, banner etc.I dont know i succeded or not;););)

My first seo Project was whitehat seo 11 y ago and was succesful

Thread moved.

First site was a 2-page basketball blog and I was trying to sell workout programs for guys who wanted to jump higher lol.

Despite it only being a super thin, 2 page site, I got it to page two of Google for my main competitive keyword by manually spamming d0follow blog comments. I got frustrated towards the end and just completely started spamming dozens of blog comments daily, wasting my time. Eventually I got hit by an algorithm penalty. Turns out I had 74%(!) exact match anchor text. I'm surprised I was even able to get that high basically just by spamming.
