Why is IG engagement so bad and low

Im using MP to grow many accounts, but engagement is so low even i try according to settings as best as possible to target active and relevant profiles and to avoid ''crap'' accounts. Every few days i randomly pick some profiles to check if they are real, relevant and they look good, but they not show any interest in the content or they not see my posts at all. I notice which is normal that some photos get more likes than others, but it seems i cant get engagement any higher than 1.25% - 1.50% and this is for the last posts that are 12+ hours published, which means new followers that i gain usualy like the last posts too. In first few hours after publishing the post engagement is not even 1%

On the other side i have some friends with real personal or business profiles who don't even know for automatition-botting and they get 7-9% or even higher than 10% engagement sometimes.

So only thing that comes to my mind is that using automatition tools (mp,jarvee..etc) to follow-unfollow and grow account is absolutely killing account engagement? or its just impossible with these tools to target any quality followers?

Does anyone have some tips how to improve engagement, i tried and stop F/U on some accounts for about 3 weeks but it didnt help and engagement still didnt increase..

You’d be surprised at what you could receive if you just asked for it. A direct call-to-action like “tag the friends this reminds you of” or “tell us what you think” can suddenly cause your comments section to be brimming with activity

I would post more engaging content on IG and stop using follow-unfollow completely. This should bring engagement back to a normal level.

It's almost common knowledge by now that bots kill your engagement. I found out the hard way too.
