Hi All.

I have a keyword which is very unstable. One day it was ranked 18 and then it was gone out of google rankings. Suddenly comes back and goes out of rankings again . Now after few months its at 16 to 22 range. But the problem is its always go up and down. What might be the reason for this?

This can depend on many factors.
*The data centers are not aligned, wherever your tracker pulls the position, it changes accordingly
*Might be the keyword itself - if often news appear, new videos, etc etc this can shake serps up, if items added and removed on a constant base
*You might still be in Google Dance (current new evaluation of your eligible position)
*You have on-site issue, like improper scripts which cause to return 404s or other errors.
*You are just stuck in the endless perma-bounce loop.

Could be a million things, hard to tell from over here.
  • Over-optimized anchor text
  • KW density too high
  • Not enough topical relevance

check it ranks for 2 posts? One post has lower ranking and other post have higher ranking. Your tracker time to time shows one post and other.

This is a very competitive keyword though . Lot of content added to the keyword. Also a trending keyword. The thing is mobile version has my keyword in higher up and constant. only web engine gives me this problem

Might be this is a issue. I use Yaost and optimize pretty hard. So might be the reason. The article might be at the boundary line of spam.

For a similar keyword a different page got ranked. But that is not the same keyword. its for a long tail keyword.
