Hi Everyone, I know that many hosts allow you to add dedicated IP's to your account, but do any of you know of any hosting accounts that allow you to add IP's from a variety of IP blocks?

Probably depends on the host. I've added Ip's and they end up being very similar to the original. I've tried with 4 different hosts and no luck.

I think if you own your own box you have more control over this, but that gets expensive.

Hopefully someone else can point us in the right direction to a host who will do this.

It's very difficult to have a legit host with different class-C Ip. You can try to ask them an other IP each month praying for their class-C is over...

In any case host that give you multiple IP (in different class-C range) are very expensive.

The best solution (even more in BH) is to have multiple cheap host, you can find nice one for 5$/month and most of host will bill you around 5$/month/ip. So don't put all your eggs on the same host

A lot of hosts have multiple class C networks available but they won't sell you IPs from different blocks. They are assigned in order.

So, the way you can get different class C IPs is to request a single new IP every once in awhile. I ask for a new one every month or so and it's always been different so far. Takes time but cheaper than paying for SEO hosting.

This is a good idea, and I was thinking of it in terms of VPS hosting, but just normal hosting will work too as you pointed out. What I've found though is that most hosts require a payment that equals two years worth of $5/month. That's a lot of cash up front. Hostgator doesn't do that, but I haven't found many others. Wish I could find a way around THAT.

Man, this is pure gold. Exactly the idea I was thinking of, and looking for. I'm thinking of trying this soon. Would you say "every once in a while" would be every few months or so?

Curious to this as well. Have just emailed mediatemple support and they told me they don't give out IPs on different c blocks.

They also state you need to give a good reason as to why you need it.

What's a legitimate reason besides "I want to build a link farm"?
