I recently got a bottle of L'Eau Par Kenzo Pour Homme, it became my daily, good citrusy/aquatic scent for the summer in the still affordable range.

Dior Fahrenheit is also good, especially if you want to piss everyone off around you. lol Never tried Sauvage though.
D&G Pour Homme, Bvlgari Black, Versace Man Eau Fraîche, Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Nil, Annick Goutal Mandragore...many many nice designer scents.

Aventus & TdH is too loud and overpowering for my taste even in very small doses.

In my opinion aventus it's the best one. Smell like no else and it's very powerful and long lasting ( I mean even 2 days on the shirt )

Better use a cheap one and that's it.

If I used a brand frequently (& that I liked) and they're using it - yeah, when you say hi and hug your friend. Can't recognize that many perfumes though. I generally buy big bottles so they last a while, less changing of perfumes.

If it's distinctive and noticeable, most certainly yes, not just the brand, but the exact scent, just like you don't mistake the smell of shit for roses.

Scents are tricky though, they don't always smell the same on everyone, blame chemistry.
