I’m a programmer and idea man.. can get the ball rolling but do not have the contacts I will be requiring..

How would one start networking? Is it still done in person or can u successfully make connections online? via Telegram groups, Skype etc...

You will get a ton of no's along the way. That is just part of the game. Take what you learn each time you get told no and change the pitch a little for the next person. Getting funding is not easy.

You need to have the right connections. Thats how most people get to know to investors.

How to make connect to the right people? Well, that depends on how much $$$ we are talking about. If you need only a few grands even here, BHW might be the right place for you.

But if you need more, its mostly done with real life contacts. There are events for that, where you can meat such people.

I have the idea and I can create product to certain level but then will require funding for actual implementation of the idea..

I'd focus on the product and self funding. In my opinion the funding comes last. You have to create something special and be very very invested in it financially. What would you do if someone came to you and asked for funding and they only had thousands invested in it.
