Great journey and big success. Just read all your replies but still haven't got the answer for those two questions:

1. Your said you initially target a long tail keyword and got a few sales a day and eventually you ranked very high for the main keyword. So what's the minimum search volume on merchantwords when you decide to target a keyword?

2. When you say the low competition, you mean low search result. So what is the exact search result you think is low? Below 10k or 20K or some other numbers.

3. I tried JS one month but finally cancelled. I tired to find some keywords with low competition using JS but when I checked the search volume on merchantwords, it was pretty low, less than 1K search volume.

Really appreciate if you can spare a few mins to reply.

you wrote that you found an american supplier. How many items have you agreed to on the first shipment? Was it (like you wrote in your opening post) only 20-30 items or was it bigger?
And regarding the price, how much more expensive is this american supplier in comparison to the chinese suppliers?

I don't follow this. Getting traffic does not automatically equal sales.

With Amazon's platform, you will not have control over the analytics like you do when running your own web store to be able to analyse keyword performance.

Another thing is that you get penalised with Amazon's ranking for people viewing your product page, but not buying it. You might have a good product and keyword, but you kill that by sending people to your product page who don't intend to buy the product.

Is it possible to open another "store", same product etc.. Only drive traffic to it from fb/ig/pinterest/youtube, and if it ranks down cause of people not buying, the main product from the first store (with organic traffic) will be solid.. I mean, it's all run by computer, it doesn't know that ypu are crazy enough to invest in two competitive stores..

Anyway, VW is owner of Audi, Porsche, Bugatti.. VW and Audi are competitors in some classes, and by "competing", they devide people to VW or Audi lovers.. And Benz, Bmw and others are out of sight.. Haha, it's psychology game, but it could maybe work in this case (the one with ppc traffic would generate at least to break even).. You create competition, and you chose the winner.. Server is there just to give trophy (Rank #1)..

Am I crazy, or just too much Eastern European.. It's in out blood to look for a way to fuck the system.. xD
