How can you sell during the Shopify trial?

Hey guys, I see some people saying that they are selling their product(s) during their free Shopify trial, but how do they do that? This isn't possible unless you pay, right? Is there some hidden trick to this?

You can sell as many products as you want. I remember when there were 60 day free trial (You can still ask for this in Live Chat and they give you extra free trial days) I never ever paid for a Shopify subscription, I would better setup a new store registering the same credit card as subscription, then link the same domain, and upload exported products from past store.

Huh, how is this possible? I can't "open" my store, all visitors must fill in a password and even than I'm not sure if they can place an order. I'd really appreciate it if you or someone else could give me some direction to how I can launch my store during the free trial period, I always thought you had to pay.

I just contacted their customer support and got the following response:

Let me double check on that for you, I believe you need to select a plan before you are able to accept payments on your store! I will just confirm that. One moment

CS:
So all you need to do is to select the plan that you would like to use on your store, you will not be charged until the trial is done!

However you do need to select a plan

Edit: oh I think I get it, you should select a plan first, fill in all your CC information and then you won't be charged until the end of the free trial period. Just before the end of the free trial period you just cancel your plan and you've had 14 free days of Shopify where you could accept payments. Am I right?

Yes. And you can remove the password somewhere in general settings.

This sounds interesting. So, one can run a shopify store without ever paying? Just keep recycling your 60 days again and again?

There were times when there was 60 day free trial, I'm not sure if you can ask for this on Live Chat anymore.

There is no way (as Im aware of) .You can only pay using a credit card.

Edit : someone talked about the 60 days trial. I can confirm that they dont offer it anymore, only the 30 days isbstill available.

You can also google "shopify first 50 orders for free" . Last year they were offering a "way" to not be billed till you get 50 orders but not sure if it's still available.

I have never had an issue while paying with a debit card. Don't know the reason why you can't do the same, but... Have you tried more than one card? Usually, VISA debit card works for me.

A good sign a shop will fail is not being able to afford the monthly Shopify payments. Product dev, apps, and
marketing make that cost look like peanuts. Stay realistic and you will be closer to success.

Closing your store and opening another one is just too much work and you need to add products and everything, if you're making sales just pay for it dude it's not that expensive.

I can easily afford it, never said that I couldn't. I'm 17 years old and there is no way on earth that I can get a credit card, that's why I'm asking whether or not virtual cards work.

I should have clarified I didn't mean you specifically. A lot of people trying to circumvent a $30 fee.
