I've seen a lot of people who are gaining shitloads of subs just by doing live highlights of other streamers (gaming niche). Is there any blackhat, greyhat or whitehat here to do that?

yes, many do that, it's a quick method to attract traffic from this specific HOT niche, this is confusing the target audience that get a live suggestion for an "offline" video, but most of the visitors stay to watch it and add a sub, since they don't really understand "how the offline lives is live" and those who use it exploits the livestream ranking advantage

Any time you can go live at the same time as a product launch or major event that corresponds with your niche, you are more likely to become relevant due to the timing of the activity. If your YouTube channels are set-up properly, you can drive more traffic to your money video that way. I hope that helps.
