Is ebay organic traffic much better than shopify?

They say ebay offers better organic traffic than hosting your store through shopify, how much of this statement is true? all the products on ebay rival like 10k+ similar products, so i don't understand how organic traffic can be more helpful than shopify. When you list a product, do you get to the top for a while?
