Please advice on complex multi-stop flight booking. This summer I am going to travel Erope -> Singapore -> Thailand. It's a round trip.
But what is important, I need to stay in Singapore for 2 weeks, and then stay in Thailand for 2 weeks, and then go back.
Rediculous, no booking system offer me such a possibility 'to stay' in the middle of the trip. What can I do? How do I book such a flight?
You may view it as an extended "layover" but the airline doesn't, they view it as seperate flights.
You will need to book them as separate flights unfortunately.
I fly just about every week, sometimes 2-3-4 flights a week, all domestic, and I can't get a layover 8hrs domestically, usually only 3hrs and can only get longer when traveling internationally and that is usually only 12hrs max.
My problem is: why it's so expensive!? And why a comlicated itinerary costs lower???
Complicated itineraries are usually so they can route you on less used routes, to help fill flights.
Shop around, also shop around offline, try as many travel agents as you can.
Haven't got a flight in a long time but you can usually find cheap deals if have the time to look for them and don't be afraid to haggle and demand a discount.
Travel agents can often times score deals for cheap! Many times cheaper than can be found online.
Also, shop for airline gift certificates and flight vouchers, you can usually buy then for 60-80% of value, so that will save some money as well.
And yes, if booking through a travel agent, ask for discounts but be realistic. If they say best they can do is $1,200 but you ask them to go for $600, they will usually just tell you no luck, bit if you come back for $975, they might be able to drop a bit more and meet in middle.
