My Amazon Affiliate Marketing Journey

My Goal: Reach $1000/month by May 31, 2020 (2 years from now)

My Macro Plan:

1. Start writing articles for Keyword Golden Ratio (<250 LMS)
2. Rank them (Onpage + Offpage SEO)
3. Write articles for low volume keywords (250-720 LMS)
4. Rank them (Onpage + Offpage SEO)
5. Write articles for medium volume keywords (750-2500 LMS)
6. Rank them (Onpage + Offpage SEO)

• Obviously there will be some overlap between articles as time passes. I will adjust accordingly by editing the content, interlinking between the articles, etc as the issues arise.

Things Executed So Far:

• Got domain and hosting
• Connected the site to Google Analytics
• Connected the site to Google Search Console
• Finished keyword research (outsourced)
• Finished 2 Keyword Golden Ratio articles (outsourced)
• Rank for 1 keyword

Current Expenses:

I have these things written down in another document, but one day I just lost track of how much I used. For convenience, I will round up the number to $100.

Current Revenue:

$0

Main Factor in Making Tough Decision(s):

Which action is going to get me closer to producing revenue while not sacrificing the "service" quality of the site?

It is a good deal However, the quality of the article sometimes isn't great. You have to go through some fluff.

The length of the articles is around like 750 words. I bought them from iWriter. But I'm having second thoughts as I would be increasing my expenses with no revenue. I'm just going to have to put in the work myself for now.

I have also done this before, and if you put some work into it you will get there.

Thanks. No I've stopped the journey. Those couple of bad reviews really stopped the momentum all together. Plus, I don't like having to write for others and not be appreciated for what it's worth. So I transitioned into this affiliate marketing. I would rather do other part time jobs that pay well than that copywriting if I need the money.

Where did you get the keywords? You research them yourself?

I'm going with a single niche site. I want to "perfect" this building process and actually get the result before scaling into multiple websites and niches. I have yet to build a single website that generates even $50/month consistently.

Progress Update

Yesterday, I edited the content and its structure for the only keyword I'm ranking for right now.

(The ranking is in the picture below. There are two numbers shown there, but they are extremely similar keywords. The only difference between the two is one is a singular noun and the other is plural. I will be only looking at the one I'm targeting -- which is the singular noun. Position #45. Keyword is Keyword Golden Ratio (KGR).)

That's the only thing I did. It took a whole day, believe it or not. And even then, I didn't really complete the editing.

Now this morning, I was reading a book titled The Disease to Please by Harriet B. Braiker and a few sentences caught my eye.

"As hard as it may be to admit, there is the perception that micromanagers and others who dwell in the land of detail do not think in strategic, forward-planning terms, as executive leaders must do. In corporate organizations, the executives think and plan strategically and the ranks (and managers) tactically implement the executive's directives. In which group do you want to belong?

And it reminded me once again why I started this journey. I have a habit of being a perfectionist and getting lost in the detail. So I need to constantly remind myself what the big picture is in order to make progress in any project.

Plus, if I keep focusing on the big picture will get me closer to the $1000/month goal way faster. That's the benefit of being in the starting phase . You could call it Internet Marketing "newbie gains" lol.

And the big picture according to my plan in the first post in this thread is:

1. Start writing articles for Keyword Golden Ratio (<250 LMS)

So this month is going to be all about that. Whether the quality sucks it doesn't matter -- at least for now -- I need to just upload as many articles as possible -- be it through outsourcing or writing it myself. (Man, my perfectionist self is cringing super hard right now Those poor quality articles are eating away at my soul but I need to close my eyes from them. I'll be back to haunt you with vengeance!)

I didn't know that. How did you find them? So I'm guessing they just go through the manual task of finding the allintitle keyword number and do the math?

Thanks but I think I'll stick to the original goal. I get easily anxious even thinking about moving it to next year and doing that will get my mind away from actually building the site itself and leave me frozen in fear lol. Kind of like how Gary Vaynerchuk has his buying the jets goal (except that the scale is different).
