Is it possible to rank multiple keywords in one site?

I chose some (camera niche) low competition keywords (about 500-1000 monthly search in Thailand) and has been working with them for about 1 month , decided to buy one expired tumblr and backlink to one of my inner pages (this page has only one keyword).

My site has about 4-5 articles now (600-800 words article) but only the one with backlink can rank to first page and the rest without backlink has been staying at page 5-8 since first week and doesnt seem to improve...

Im now confused.. Does backlink affect the whole site or just one page that was linked to ?

It affects the whole site but ranking is boosted of the actual page. You can definitely rank for multiple keywords if you have their own dedicated page.

If that page with the backlink is interlinked to other pages on your site, then other pages will benefit from some of the juice from that backlink. However, that page with the backlink will be the primary beneficiary.

I suggest building links to your homepage, interlinking your homepage to your important pages/posts, and then building links to those important pages/posts. Let the juice flow through your whole site.

Thanks for the tip :)! When I am generating backlinks from other sites should I point them to the Homepage then or to the post/page that has the same anchor? Apologies if this sounds a little confusing :)!

Homepage using brand, naked, generic anchors. Single post/page using brand, naked, generic, LSI, exact anchors

It is better to point to inner page with exact anchor keyword (maintain diversity %). Get brand or naked urls to home page and point same exact anchor keyword.

That's not impossible, as long as you allot a page for each keyword or if you get each of them going in your homepage. Do some interlinking :)
