Google Time Machine ? LOL

Have any of you guys notice how google.com is on average 2 months ahead of any other version ? for example google.co.uk ?

Let me explain, I'm working with a website, brand new site (2 months old), the website is on #1 position for their brand name with google.com, but for Google.co.uk the website is in position #7, Same happens even if I change my IP with a VPN and check the same search again, so I know ti is not based on IP for this specific search.

The main question is are you in UK or not?

If in UK then I think results should be the same (simply because google.com will default to google.co.uk if user's location is in UK).

But if not in UK, results could be different. Say you are in France: then google.com probably defaults to google.fr (may or may not), but then google.co.uk remains google.co.uk.

But other than that there is no time machine effect that I heard of.

It's because of localized search extension. Google uses domains like co.uk, com.au to provide the results catering to that particular geographical location on the other end .com provides results from global servers.

Results are based on geolocation and your backlinking domains. If your backinking domains are ending with .com.au you will likely be ranking higher on google australia and if your backlinks are from .co.uk its likely you'll rank higher in UK.

I think there is a delay.

Local index is slower than main. It's not like fixed 2 months or something but generally indexing, deindexing and ranking updates are slower for some queries.

At least I've got that feeling.

I'm not in UK, I did change my IP with Private Internet access with the same results, I know what you mean, my point is how you can "see" how your website is doing in Google.com, results take effect in Google.com much faster than any other Google extension (My own experience), this is what I mean about time machine

Agree, my entire point was on how you can "see" the results of the link building much faster on Google.com than any other extension, with time the .co.uk website will be on first position just how it is in .com

Actually you can see .com websites with mostly .com links ranking higher than .co.uk sites, I agree with the logic, this is my experience at least so far, google.com is like a time machine bewcause you can see the ranking "faster" than the other extensions of Google.

It could be 1 month or 3 months, but Google.com always gives a "heads up" on how they view your website before updating the rankings in other extensions.
