Improve Site Loading Speed in 2 Minutes

Thanks a lot to all for adding more. Many of these tricks were i haven't tried before

avoid database requests as much as possible, use varnish like cache server, have an AMP version of your site, just my 10 cents

Why use a plugin when Nginx's FastCGI Cache and Apache's Mod Cache are so much faster?

Yes, I can vouch for that page compression tip - it definitely speed up your page load time considerably, and it also reduces your server's cpu usage time as well. When your site is sent through a compressed form to the web visitor, the compressed form is smaller, thus it takes lesser bandwidth and quicker to transfer, and hence a faster load speed. I also notice that the compressed form reduces the cpu usage on the server, thus the server will be able to handle more requests better. But not sure whether the compressed form has effect on the caching? Anyone has any idea? As the caching would sit there, thus would there be a conflict?

There is nothing to get confused about plugin. I just mentioned w3 total cache plugin however there are many more plugins available. You can also find some plugins for optimizing images. You can use any plug which have good number of avtive installations and good rating in review. Most important is you find plugin which is easy to understand for you and which is according to your requirments. In my case the plugin i mentioned did its job in a great way. If you are still confused then just follow the steps i have mentioned and see the results. If you dont get your desired results then you can roll back changes by uninstalling plugin and reseting gcompression settings again.

What is your google page speed result?
