I have a new website . Until now I have 1 post with 4k+ words and 3-4 posts with 1k + words and only the homepage is indexed.

I submited my sitemap on google webmasters and it was 8 links submited only 1 indexed .

Is google just taking longer to indexed posts/categories/pages or theres something wrong with my website?

When did you post the other posts? Did you add them to the site menu and did you create inner links?

Well if it still doesn't index the internal pages, you can either submit those internal pages to an instant link indexing service which may take 8-24 hours to get those links indexed (if they have good content), or use a software-based indexing service, which may take 24-48 hours to get indexed.
Otherwise, the only other reliable way to get links indexed for the long term would be to build links to your pages - these are good for the long term as the indexed pages would stick, whereas the first solution may not stick after 2-6 weeks.

I want something natural thats not gonna penalize me

Google take time to be get index our website and you have need to be implement proper SEO!!

Nothing is going to penalize you if you create natural backlinks from high authority websites and from niche websites!

Give it some time. Otherwise, try to post as much content as I can.

I don't see a problem indexing real sites even these days. It took 4-5 hours to index a legit site of mine yesterday. P.s I posted there 10 posts (around 2k words each), probably that helped.

No
It is important that you don't only post blog posts. You also have to have links to them from other pages on your site. I can also suggest for you to make a menu tab with all your blog posts.
This way they will usually get indexed faster. Orphaned pages and posts takes much longer time to get indexed in general.
