Nich Store or general store ??

Hello BHW-ers !!
I am a beginner on eBay and have been selling for like 6 months now. I was working on one nich that does not bring enough sales. I am willing to open a basic store. Do I open a nich store of the same nich and look for other products ? or it's better to make it a general store and list products from different niches which will help testing more ?

In my opinion, it doesn't really matter much if you only want to sell eBay or Amazon specifically, because of the wide variety of traffic, but if you end up wanting to move to more formal e-commerce and open up your own website, then I would recommend figuring out a niche, because general store e-commerce websites are hard to make work without a lot of branding.

Basically I am dropshipping from Aliexpress to eBay ! My niche does not bring enough sales or daily sales so don't you think trying many niches at the same time will be better ? Thank you for your comment

Thank you !! This is exactly what I thought about. I worked on one only niche for 5 months now & did not get what I expected. sUrely I would get more sales if I worked on other niches. My problems is that I have been convinced that one should work on only one niche. now I think that is a wrong idea

definitely wrong idea...having niches stores require additional work, and time...

If people want something niche and specific, often they'll go to a specialist store for it. As an example, I used to run a drop ship store for golfing equipment and target people on FB accordingly... I ended up selling that store for a profit, and made huge profits during the time I ran it.

The thing about that is that a general store can be way more profitable but you have to build it a niche at a time. Start with one, get itnprofitable, expand to others. The whole point of the “niche” is to be able to upsell and cross sell. Keep it mind the users don’t really care about the store in general because they’re usually getting there from clicking an ad and they land directly on the product page where it’s our job to get them to make an impulse buy.

Lastly, another benefit of the niche store is that you’re able to build more accurate pixel data within a specific niche.

If you build stores in a bunch of niches, and have a pixel for each one. When you finally build a general store, you’d be able to take to niches based on the product.

I am a beginner !! did not get enough sales (sometimes one sale a day or no sales at all)

I am dropshipping on eBay and no ads at all. dropshipping using only one niche ! and depending on eBay traffic. have not reached an advanced level yet sooo do you still think there is a problem with my niche ?

Thank you very much for the advice. I see your point but as I am a beginner I am still strongly thinking that I should try many products from different niches !
