Can i create a new app with the same title as others ?

Hello everybody,

My question is plain and simple, i want to publish a new game in Google Play Store, however all the good titles are already taken, but i couldn't help but to notice that several games have the same titles and yet they don't get banned for that ?

When i search for a certain title, i get in the results a lot of games with the same title in a lot of games, Is it safe that i do the same ? Will i be banned because of that ?

Simple answer if the game is an elite playstore game ( high volume of downloads & play store promotion) then your app will not be accepted with same name. Mostly they are copyright protected.
Also the game flow /app layout should not be Same.

you can use same title but need to bit modify and change layout ..other way they can able to copy-write clime .....

Well like the other said, there is a risk of copyright and use of the same title as another app which might result to a ban for the app or the account, so i wanted to know how the others manage to do it !

Unless you're specifically trying to make money parasiting off of someone else's brand, there's no benefit or purpose to using someone else's brand name. There are literally infinite brandable app names.

No on the contrary, i'm trying to stay away from these kind of troubles, that's why i'm asking here, because whatever title comes to mind and i type it in Google play i find it already taken !

Either no one made colyright, or its not worth reporting the clone apps as long as their stand out at first place ( just tired of reporting them)

on my experience, through reskin apps, you can go with same name but need a lil modify the title, like add 'new' or 'pro' on title,
but in this case you must check the app first, if they big dev, off course your app will taken down soon when got install (1000 - 5000) or any number we can't predict , they can report your app soon ,

I see, so even if they are a small dev they can still report you and that can cause a ban, as far as i know it could be even another dev who did a reskin and reports me, so small dev can still cause you reporting problems ?

offcourse, if they have claimed for contents,
last year, i made a comic app using photos as content from a characters by indie not a company,
they mail me regarding content, and 1 month after that my app got ban from playstore..

You can easily create a new app with the same title as others except this title is protected with copyrights...for example Clash of Clans, facebook, tetris.
Evenmore if small devs has the same apps title after they will flag your app your acc won't be banned. In the worst scenario if your app was already published you will receive a notification with a list of some countries...or just one country where your app wont be available.

If you want to get traffic using someones copyright protected title such wellknown as Youtube (for example), you can cheat a little and make a title with dots and other words. For example "Watch cartoons.youtube "

So the flag and app suspension doesn't affect the account at all ?

The method you used of the dot is realy smart and safe with your apps, did those apps got flagged eventualy if i may ask ?
