I get it from a buyer's standpoint, but it's kind of ridiculous. Some of these sellers provide excellent services and are very talented. However they could be from a 3rd world country and may not even have an ID. It's not like anyone is going to get scammed, reviews help a user decide if they want the services. This is going to limit people from being able to make much needed income via Fiverr.

Which country is that ? They are already getting paid with PayPal which requires a bank account which further requires a ID.

What is wrong from Fiverr to ask for verification? Don't you have an ID of yourself? How do you have your internet at home, or have a sim card, or bank account or PayPal account or anything?

Everyone has an ID , even the 6th world countries. Good for Fiverr - every reliable seller will have no problem uploading ID, and will get rid off "native english" seo's . writers , providers etc

It was just a matter of time until that would happen. A lot pf sellers will likely leave fiverr no, the ones who verify themself will make good money now because of less competition.

Doesn't seem much different from any other legitimate marketplace.
Usually you have to provide some sort of verification information.
The fact Fiverr didn't do that, definitely made it easier for people to spam the website, even after being suspended numerous times.
I think it's a good idea overall.

From all of the decisions fiverr has been making this was a good one. For now it was just impossible to get ahead in the sea of competition. New accounts were easy to make and exploiting was done left and right

well nothing to get shock, actually a lot plaform asking for ID to verify . Can be good to buyers but also bad , aka means about your privacy but end of the day is part and parcel now a days . Just like all those payment plaform , you need to submit your ID to verify ,

I feel partly due to " money laundry , a lot are into online ways to fast laundry money " and of course ' part of security online to protect buyers , sellers "
