So, after last year that fiverr added a $1 paypal fee for each purchase now they are charging $2. What do you guys think about this?

Mixed emotions from me - I must admit, it’s a pretty decent site, and it’s generated a fair amount of business for me.

But their customer service, at least to sellers, is pretty shit. And the recent changes they have been making are extremely shit.

now a days they got huge costumer ,for that they don't care about costumer and service provider.they just think about their own pocket

what the fee for , there must be a reason for the fee.

paypal fee already heigh , what there excuse for the fee?

that very heigh fee for services charging just $5 , the fee half the value of the product ...

sad.

I haven't come across any great services I can share as an example. Pretty crappy services for the most part and now $2 fees, I will pass....

I am surprised to hear this.

Here is what they mention now :

  • Service fees are added at the time of purchase where a buyer can review and accept the total amount requested to pay. These fees cover administrative fees. As of May 2018, the current fees assessed to the total purchase amount are $2 on purchases up to $40 and 5% on purchases above $40. When purchasing from your seller’s balance (i.e. out of your earned revenues) or buyer’s shopping balance (resulting from any credits or refunds) you will not be charged a service fee. Funds returned to your balance from cancelled orders will not include service fees paid.

Please stop misleading people and show us proof.

Here is a screenshot for a proposed order

Fiverr has not increased any additional rates. The OP should proof otherwise with evidence

You can read the fees on tos page. I quoted the information in response above.

Looks like they are moving to a similar business model to amazon. Where they dont actually make their money on their % so they add on fees and taxes that they dont actually pay.

Lol this was going to happen. The company has reached an optimal capacity for revenue this is always the next step. They might even sell to someone else in a year or two

I think they don't are making the profit that investors expected. This is why they are trying to charge more on fees and promoting gigs with higher prices (which I don't think it is a good idea for a site called FIVERR).

Seller still will get $4 per gig order, and $3 now the revenue of fiverr. wow. almost 80% they earning. I think now people will start looking for alternative sites.

I used to sell my article writing services on fiverr a while back, but now I've decided that they are not worth it. Since my articles are priced at $5 for 500 words it seemed impractical because fiverr doesn't really advertise your services, just park your promotion. It's up to you to do the legwork to drive traffic to your storefront. Now that they are charging more to the customer, it means that they get stiffed and so do I.

Fiverr is a pile of shit in all honesty, they have moved their goal posts, lost a lot of buyers and also sellers.

There are so many other options available to both buyers & sellers.

You make a really good point here. Fiverr does not promote on your behalf (at least as far as I know) and you are not much more than a channel for them to generate revenue in their eyes.

On the other hand there are ways to force Fiverr's hand to have your service front and center so there is some value there.

I made a comment above about a premium price for non premium services and that was more tongue n cheek than accurate as I know there are some offers there that have value and are worth buying.

I should have not made that comment above and apologize to those of you that actually offer quality on that platform.
