Web 2.0s as buffers between PBN and MS - good idea?

Hello,

Well, I've got several websites that belong to the same niche, and I've been thinking to support one of them with some backlinks from the rest.

All of them are on the same hosting so linking directly is not an option, but I've been thinking to use some Web 2.0s as buffers. Something like this

PBN -> Web 2.0 -> Money Site.

Is it a good idea? Does it work?

No, you're just wasting a link that way. A good PBN is meant to boost your money site directly. If the PBN is spammy garbage then sure, go ahead.

Depends on the power of your PBN, but frankly, links that you have better control over and those that you can guarantee to stay live unless kicked by Google should be used as tier 1 links. You could also vary your strategy

pbn -> web2.0 -> money site
web2.0 -> pbn -> money site
web2.0 -> web2.0 -> money site etc

If your web2.0s are expired subdomains, then yes, you can use PBN to boost the web2.0 in between that should pass the link juice back to your money site.
If your web2.0 are new subdomains, then apparently no, as the search engine updates have somehow negated the benefits from this. But you may try searching for web2.0 that hasn't been marked yet though, possibly new ones that could pass the link juice from their primary domain to subdomain.
Otherwise, if the PBNs are HQ enough, then just go ahead and point it directly to your money site, as that should boost your authority immediately.

If the PBN is crappy, use web 2.0s as a buffer.

If you're building the PBNs yourself (and not buying links from sellers), and you're building them properly, then this is unnecessary.

I think he's saying all the websites are on the same host and IP and he wants to interlink them all together using web 2.0's as buffers as an attempt to hide footprints.

I wouldn't do this personally but it might be safer if you put them on separate cloudflare accounts/IP's or something but even then it's obviously not optimal.

You're right. I read the OP too fast. I still don't think it makes any difference as long as all of the sites are legit and the links are relevant. It does make the situation a bit more interesting, however.

Probably better to separate them than to use web 2.0s if you're really worried about it.

Thank you so much; that is exactly my issue, you've got it 100% right.

These websites were not intended to be a PBN, initially, but rather a collection of money sites; I planned to rank each of them for different keywords. So, I've been building websites within the same niche for almost a year, and, over time, I ended up with a network of blogs. This is why they share the same hosting, they were not intended to be a PBN, as it is commonly used, not for ranking.

Anyway, several days ago, I thought if I could power up one of them by pointing some backlinks to it from the rest, using Web 2.0s as buffers.

Exactly my thinking.
If you have a great, solid PBN site you control, then that is the one to point at your MS, but if it's a cheaply bought one, then aim that at a buffer before your money site.
Granted you may lose link juice, but it's better for safety.
