Hi all,

Whats the going rate at the moment for good content creation?

I basically want to start a blog for a SaaS service I'm launching soon. Ideally they'd just research the product then write content, hopefully using their own initiative for topics.

That part might be wishful thinking I know....

Thanks guys

I usually pay $15 for a good product review for my Amazon affiliate sites. It’s around 700 words.

Alternatively I pay $5 for tier 2 content and sometimes less depending on the quantity I’m going for.

I pay $50 per article for my top writer. These are only used for high end clients. Run of the mill content, I pay $10-15 per. In some instances, with very specialized content, I will pay up to $100.

$5 for the low-end 500-word content. $10 or more of the high end 700 words. Never more than $20. Paying more doesn't always translate to better articles sometimes. If I find a writer I like, I keep trying to feed them work. Writers will take a lower price if they can get consistent work from you.

Depending on the depth of the research, but the two writers I work with regularly get paid 40$ per 1500-2500 words (more in-depth stuff is closer to 1500 words and less research intensive stuff is closer to 2500 words).

Hi, @jamie3000.

There's no "going rate" for writers or even for other service providers. It depends on the experience and expertise of the provider.

A content writer who has 17 years of experience in the business can charge higher than someone who only has 17 weeks of experience.

Interview the content writer via chat or call. You'll surely get a good feel of the value they can bring on the table.

Wow, thanks for all the input guys, this has really helped me get a feel for the price. Seem like most things in life, you get what you pay for.

You just nailed the single most important concept in IM.

How many threads do you see with claims like #1 spot for $100 and so forth? If you could rank #1 with $100, everyone would do it. If you could make $5000 with $5 content, you'd multiply your money 1000fold.

There is no magic, you always get what you pay for, it's a law of nature.

I paid 25$ for 1000 words article but you can get writers for lower cost as well

How I wish all clients are like you. :)

Couldn't agree more, @bartosimpsonio. :)

$15 for 500 words is pretty reasonable for a native English writer imo.

Then is not always the case just because someone is writing for 17 years doesn't make him better automatic is in someone's writing for 17 weeks maybe depends on the skills of the person that language proficiency rather than just long in the business.

But agreed, no set rate depends on too many factors

The rate depends on a number of factors, you may have to pay anywhere from $ to $$$ per article. I was reading a post from a leading blogger from my country and sometime he used to get requests to write articles for other clients. He used to charge above $500 for these as he is an established name.

Hi, @theRevolt. You are right. Longevity doesn't always equate to supremacy. It's only a generalization that the best ones are sometimes the most experienced ones. Not always, but most often. :)

I have many writers that write 500 words articles for 9-10$
They have native English writing skills.

So far so good.

Generic query here..

Okay, little insight on my end but no promises.

General niche: 14 per 1K, likely for tier 2
Relevant: 17-21 per 1K, tier 1 onwards (depending on writing juices)
Azon intent: 25-28 per 1K (niche relevance on Authority sites)
Client-facing Pillar/Silo/Wall of Text: 30-50 per 1K (writers always deliver way more than expectations)

Kindly note that all writers are native journalists (ranging from tier 1 onwards to Review sites) and mostly domicile in U.S. Please also note that prices are my average yearly costs per 1K.

Since a genuine question is posted, @Commoner shall reveal one more item. Do 'test' your potential writers for at least 6 months for discrepancies.

Write Heartily,
Commoner
