engagement dropped on an account today from average of 1200 likes to less than 100...any idea why? Happening to anyone else? Literally no changes in the account.

Instagram's algorithm. Only think you can do is spend money on ads, or wait for the algorithm to kick the right way (1-8 weeks).

Figures. I threw 20$ at the account to see if that does anything.

None of my other accounts have changed, sucks that it hit this one. 30k travel account. Always had good content and decent engagement. So I’m hoping to bring it back.

I’ll let you guys know if anything changes.

On the flip side my babes accounts is growing by 300 a day and I haven’t posted in a week, so I’m confused.

What do you mean when you say the algorithm will kick right in 1-8 weeks?

That's the time, in my experience, when the algo will go back to your normal. From 1 to 8 weeks.
I handle many accounts (personal and business), and they all get hit at different times. Original HQ content, no spam, real people and businesses. On the new ones that get hit, I don't advise spending money. My hunch is that IG/FB sees you spending money and they won't pull back on the lever. Noticed that within a few weeks everything goes back to normal, without spending money. But, if you need to sell, then get ready to spend. No other way about it.

All of my account have the same issue. From 2k-5k likes to barely 300....
