Proxy IP isn't showing the right location

So I bought a private proxy a few days ago that the company says is in New York but when I search my location on google it says my IP is in Hungary and google shows up in Hungarian.

Did I get scammed? Is this a Hungarian proxy being masked as a US proxy?

That's not true, because geolocation depends on databases. Different databases show different locations.
Do compare www.maxmind.com and www.ip2location.com and www.db-ip.com

In that case, google might be getting the location from other pieces of information such as cache, A-GPS etc. Can you make sure you are using browser private mode and try again?

Yup, I always use a private browser with WebRTC blocked.
