Not in terms of SEO no.. but would recommend a paid SSL if your customers are transacting on the website.

Free SSL like from letsencrypt is all good from SEO point of view. For transactions go with Organization or Extended Validation certificates it's just that these certificates go through rigorous vetting.

For a regular site : Just use letsencrypt rather use other shared free SSL certificates
Now if you are in the finance vertical or keep highly sensitive data then you can look at stronger paid versions.

May be or may be not.

All SSL Certificate provide the same level of security. But, DV SSL comes with basic security features like easy domain validation and low cost. But, OV and EV SSL Certificate comes with additional security and authentication feature. Even EV SSL Certificate offer the best security with extra security budge like green address bar, organization name in browser, best validation process and much more.

Currently, Google doesn't care what type of SSL certificate you use either free SSL or paid SSL in order to get the ranking boost because they are all treated the same.

Actually, there are those paid SSLs that would come with a dedicated IP for your website instead. The free ones - you don't get that dedicated IP, but you still have the SSL/HTTPS indication for your website.
I don't notice any differences, but the paid SSL, when you purchase that from a hosting provider, they will assign a dedicated IP to your hosting plan, and through that dedicated IP, the HTTS/SSL is provided accordingly.
So if it's SEO point of view, if you were to use a shared hosting plan, using a paid SSL that comes with the dedicated IP, that would somehow segregate your site from potential other spam websites that could be in your neighborhood.

letsencrypt is enough for small business / basic websites. If your website involves in many number of online transaction then go with paid one.

Obviously there's difference between the available SSL certificate schemes. For SEO, the free one should be enough..
