As with everything in SEO - it depends. Competition for the specific keyword would be one of main influencers on the amount of work you have to put in to reach TOP 3.

I didn't ask for cryptic answers. Since under 300 there is not much competition, I am sure your water and cup theory doesn't apply here.

I am a newbie and I know I shall not take every of under 300 keywords. I am sure Op knows better than me.

Anyway I appreciate your answer , but I am still Looking for Op answer as per his experience.

Well what I found out was that not every keyword is the same especially when it comes to affiliate sites ranking in the top 5 positions. To make it easier to rank with fewer backlinks I search for low monthly search keywords that has Q/A and forums ranking in the top positions. I then take that questions and answers from that forums and make a article from it. Chances are that I will rank on the first page without much effort.

So what this mean if someone search for that low competition keyword, they check out those forums in the top positions, but many times there is no option to buy the product. So the second option would be my site where there is buying options available.

Hopefully this will give you a clearer view.

In my experience it generally takes around one month to rank in the top 3 positions if if I only focus on one specific keyword. Diversify backlink strategy plays an important role to give more relavance to the keyword.

Also, when you start building links? As soon as the site is up or wait at least 10-15 days? I'm worried about getting out of sandbox.

Quick update on my progress.

Finished a 2000 word article

Amazon Stats:

All items were shipped and made got another 6 items ordered in 2 days.

Coversation rate for April till today: 17.57%
Earnings for April till today: $ 93 .90



Ahrefs stats:

Got another 2 low search volume keyword jumped to position 4 -10



So that's it for today. I have few other stuff to short out offline.

Another question I got. Do u target 1 keyword in single 2000 words article or you target multiple keywords?
