Ranking against Pintrest, how hard is it?

I posted yesterday in regards to seo, and this community was generous in providing me with a ton of educational material on SEO. So I decided it was time to do some digging and find myself a niche for amazon affiliate.

I found said niche with products that range from 50-200 dollars, and 10 related keywords that have 1-10k searches a month with pretty much no competition, except Pintrest.

Now the Pintrest results are not directly answering the keywords and are only semi-related for I am ranking for, but they are holding the 2nd and 3rd ranks on most of my keywords (Amazon held the 1st spot). But Pintrest is a large site and I am worried that a micro-niche blog won't be able to compete with them for the top spots, even if my content is much more relevant.

Any thoughts on this, or has anyone been in a similar situation?

It depends, if it is board, search or just picture ranking. The last one should not be that hard to outrank.

If it's not asking too much, could you elaborate a bit further? Most of the Pintrest articles are just typical picture board lists for crafts and whatnot related to the products I am trying to affiliate market, but don't actually have anything to do with reviewing/ranking product quality like a typical affiliate blog does. (if this helps explain further)

You are not beating Pinterest do forget about it. If Amazon is first on SERP why the heck people would want to visit your site? Have you thought about it?
