WTF...? I got Warning Points From Mod In Training for This...

BTB, to be honest, some of the new mods do need to relax a bit.. I mean a few days ago I got a warning for posting a comment

saying "if you dont have the balls ill make the phone call for you and charge you $200 ;) "

in regards to some social media marketing deal.. as a joke of course , got a warning because I tried to 'sell something' lol..

Not that I cared but just saying, especially when I provided a ton of value in that thread...

Talk to him/her... they are human just like you and I.

Warnings can be reversed if we make mistakes (I'm the freaking king of mistakes!) with some conversation explaining what one's actual end goal is/was.

Well, your message could have been without the I have something part, but I am pretty sure you could get this sorted out..

Just message him explaining, we are all humans after all

I sent a private message to a moderator in training (who I saw was interested in something from a post of his)

I asked the Mod if I am allowed to pitch him my idea or if this was against the rules and because of that I got 3 warning points ....?

This forum and community is great but I think the Mods need to relax

If you really want to continue down this avenue, I'll post the exact word for word what you posted in the unsolicited PM you sent me, offering to sell me a website and asking if you were allowed to send me further details.

I'll also post the reason why I only gave you a 3 point warning. You chose to take this public my friend.

As suggested above if you're unhappy with my action, feel free to take it to one of the Admins.

Regarding the comment about MITs needing to relax, maybe if some members didn't try to chance their arm and try to pull a fast one, then we'd not need to issue warnings.

You deserved it.

You cant just break the rules and write "not sure if it is allowed or not" at the bottom

Read the rules first next time
I didn’t give any full on details .

I did read the rules.

“3.6 Advertising to, or solicitation of, any member to buy or sell any products or services through the unauthorized or impermissible use of the Site such as PM solicitation. (Note: If you have something you want to sell on this forum, post it in the For Sale section).”

I wasn’t advertising I was trying to help a fellow member by seeing if he was interested in me soliciting something that he was interested in .

^ = 1 Step before advertising or soliciting.

I don't think that posting that exact PM would be out of order.

It could help in the education aspect of the forum.

All good MisterF no hard feelings .

No harm was intended from my PM.

And I’m definitely not trying to pull a fast one.

Code:
offering to sell me a website and asking if you were allowed to send me further details

if thats the case ide suck up the 3 points and let this thread die.
dont ever go public unless you can back-up miss-treatment .
ide calll this a day.

Not sure why you mentioned the fact they are a MiT and then say the "Mods need to relax"..

Is he a Mod or not? Lol.

If they are a MiT they are staff.

The MiT status is more for the staff as to a status and not for the forum as to status.

Becoming a staff member here requires vetting that is well above what most would think.

The only two MiTs I know about are @davids355 and @MisterF , and both of them are great people trying to help the forum as far as I know. I’ve had an issue with @MisterF before, and he was understanding so we came to a solution, therefore I’m 100% sure you did something wrong

dont flatter yourself

Would def keep this between you and the MiT. I've had moderators msg me about things before, if you're following the rules there won't be a problem. I'm glad that the rules are being upheld. I know it doesn't suite your needs, but there are reason they are in place. But again, I'd just discuss it via PM to understand what I did wrong and how not to have it happen again. Communication is key, whining in public will DEFINITELY not help you.

Alright guys party over . No more comments needed .

Issues with a staff member?

PM them.

Should it be outside of what you think reasonable - support.blackhatworld.com

The staff (MiTs all the way through Admins) are all about what is best for the forum.

Everyone of us is human and we can make mistakes along the way but the proper protocol is to chat with the Staff member and get a better point of view of your infraction and see if you may have misspoke.

Warnings/infractions/thread/postdeletions/bans are not personal in nature as we are charged to be objective and should we not be we will hear about it from those above us, and rightly so.
