Users Information - to search for and view users' public content
Some information on Public Content returned through hashtag and location search - Name, Bio, Comments, Commenters, Follower Count, Following Count, Post Count, and Profile Picture

The following will be deprecated according to the timeline we shared previously:

Public Content - all remaining capabilities to read public media on a user's behalf on December 11, 2018
Basic - to read a user's own profile info and media in early 2020

This doesn't mean anything for Instagram bots. No IG bot will be using the public api's they'll be using the reversed private api which has no limits as it's not meant to be used by anyone. So no need to worry

As I just said on the PUBLIC API, Private API is what IG use themselves it's a whole different thing. Public = IG give it out for dev's to use has tons of limits and is aids. Private = Coders physically have to break into IG's security and reverse the api.

If the bots used their public APIs they wouldve been all gone by now.

Bots usually simulate browser by http requests ... nothing to do with API ... so no affects for bots .

if you are a coder you will know what i mean , sending direct http requests to platforms APIs is thing and sending http requests simulating browsers is totally different thing .

Just created a thread here on forum, but will duplicate the main info.
Since yesterday - i cant normally post pics to the IG profiles.
After posting 95% of accs get PV request.
Rlly to say i do not believe in concurrences, but who knows what can be a real reason

This article helps to shed some light on the recent changes to the Instagram API https://techcrunch.com/2018/04/02/instagram-api-limit/

I believe these are direct responses to the Cambridge Analytica fiasco and Facebook is trying to prevent 'fires' at Instagram before they start. I also believe this is just the start of a negative cascading effect for Instagram + CPA.

Most bots do not use the API and will be totally unaffected by this

So long as Instagram has a website and that website displays information and allows user actions.. then bots will be around.

This actions on the IG public API, wont do anything on IG bots, since some of them are web-based, not API-Based, and others will just simulate a browser to send actions.

This will only affect bots that were API-based, which I believe there are none.

I posted this same article the day instagram put it on there page. To clear it up for those that are confused. It won't effect most instagram bots that are software based, but alot of web based instagram automation sites it MIGHT affect.. not definitely.
