Sorry, I use android, i don't know how itunes giftcard works, but i think you can make deal with someone, you buy something for him and he gives you cash.

I have seen people are takig iTunes gift card code for Thier services despite using payment gateways like paypal/stripe. They have chinese friends where they cash out the iTunes gift card, i dont know how this works. Just thought you might know the process as you are in china.

did some reaserch. found people are selling gift card from us, japan or hongkong area on taobao(china's eaby), they buy gift cards in us shop, then sell cards on taobao to get cash. I think people you said just sold their codes to Chinese who are doing this kind of business.
