It was around 2012 when I first heard of Bitcoin and I even installed a miner on my Dell laptop at that time. I never quite got it to work and then I forgot about it. A lot of time has passed since then but I'm still beating my head against the wall trying to forget about what could have been. I had a high paying job at that time as well and money was certainly not an issue to take a shot.

You can't really say for sure, just speculations one possibility is it's just pump and dump after all, I mean most youtubers made big profit supporting crypto not they are saying this is bad that bad crypto is still not fully functional, I have seen some youtubers changing there minds in a week that's really fishy and these youtubers have nice influence over the market.

Other possibility is crypto is not really dirt but it was over hyped, and now mania is starting to settle in this case we'll see that prices will drop, become stable then slowly increase due to more adoptions and new technologies in bitcoin/crypto. People are really working hard to find a workaround transaction speeds.
I'll go with second possibility your choice is solely your responsibility.
