What would you recommend for burying RipoffReport?

What type of strategy would you generally recommend to bury a single ripoffreport page in google? Unfortunately, its ranking 1 for [storename] review, which has really been detrimental.

Besides wasting expired domains for this, I was planning on using web 2.0s, but these don't seem to do as well as they once did.

If the ripoffreport doesn't have any backlinks, some of these will outrank with no linkbuilding.

Others would require a little nudge.

Nothing too great. Just a normal compilation of sites I have used in the past to bury ripoffreport for a client. (Sites like issuu, angel.co etc.)

These are static file hosts, so you would have to create static html sites to upload.

I have an extended private list that I use for my clients... Some of those sources are too premium to share while others are time sensitive and might not be available few weeks/months down the road. So I have removed those and kept the list minimalistic.

In my experience, suppressing a ROR ranking #1 is not as simple as setting up some web 2.0's. I hope your situation is different, but I would be really surprised if you could spend $100 and be done with it.

Honestly it's a very big job. At a high level, great content published on great sites brings great rankings.

From a lower level, having relationships with a lot of great sites so you can publish content is a good first step.

Web 2.0s are effective to some extent but gone are the days where you can just build 20 web 2.0's and expect them to take over your ROR.

I might create a separate thread on some of the things we do for our ORM clients but long story short; you want links from strong sources that actually deserve to be above ROR. Not a companyname.wordpress.com. It's really not that simple anymore; otherwise everyone would be burying their negative reviews with 20 web 2.0's purchased from Fiverr.

Outreach on strong, authoritative domains work extremely well (if you can secure article placements talking specifically about you/your company). And then you need to boost those posts with further link building so that they actually rank. It's a long and slow process but it's actually pretty straight forward once you have a plan in place.

It always depends on a variety of factors. An easy negative ranking #10 will be different than a difficult negative ranking #1.
