What It's like living in Pakistan? [Answer]

Apartment for $150? You are lucky. I may soon visit Pakistan next year

I don't deny all religions containing extremist members, I was just wondering how prominent it was in Pakistan. Do you think Pakistan could ever be up to par on some western countries for social progress? i.e gay marriage, equal gender rights, marry outside of religion (or cast), human rights violations (obviously I understand this doesn't happen in just Pakistan)

EDIT: I also have an Indian partner (i'm white), so i've seen these prejudices for myself when meeting her parents etc. Don't think i'm just bashing on your country/culture

Since you were a little interested. Here's a little development that just happened few hours ago

Should've been done earlier but better now than never.

This thread is more for people who're from outside of Asia. Cheers

Nice to hear something about a country from a common citizen and not from government propaganda (I guess all governments do that).

Very educational.

Hi,

I underst
Average cost of living

In a decent area,

- You can get a apartment of 1 bed, for $100 - $150
- Food is cheap. You can get by with even $1 per day (if you absolutely had to) but avg per person is $3 - $5
- Internet. Not that cheap. We got 10mbps dedicated for around $25 p/m
- A single person can have a PRETTY good standard of living under $1k.

Cheers

what you do with all your money ?apartment 150 + food 150 +internet 25 ... is 325 a month ...... so still 675 $ to waist till the 1000. ;)

Just move around fiverr or some freelancing sites you will find a lot of Us and Them providing services.
Besides I even opted for a course a while back for CPA and the creator was from Pakistan (Now lives in Saudi) so they do have a good impact on IM.

Also who doesn't know Waqar Zaka :p

IM and internet is very popular in Pakistan. These guys hack most of the Indian websites and pirate most of our bollywood movies.

I love Pakistan being an Indian, their food, culture and languages especially Pashto sounds cool !
It is just the media's hype labelling them terrorsits.

I might visit my relatives at Karachi in July
