Anyone with experience on Direct Mail?

Hi guys, i'm looking to try my hand promoting a direct mail campaign. I'm pretty good at copy and have decent graphic design experience. I'm looking for some people who've played in this space to give a few tips here and there, stuff like lists, where to get them for dirt cheap and other stuff we might not know. In return I will say the Lord's prayer for you when I use direct mail to pay my rent.

If you are buying lists then check out the seller thoroughly, how was it compiled, how old is it.
Not sure what data protection and direct mail laws there are in Canada so you should do some research on that.
