What I'm doing is just follow/unfollow. No automating likes etc. Why this method is not good? Real people just get notified that I have followed them and they just follow back. In this way they just discover my page, isn't it?

I don't like it because your followers/following count will make it really obvious that you're doing follow/unfollow. Good followers are less likely to follow you, and if they do and notice you've unfollowed them you're going to leave a bad taste in their mouth. You can do the same thing with really good comments or well-targeted likes.

Thank you. Value information. But somehow people do not often use likes strategy, why? Can it cause ban? And maybe you know what is safe number on likes/hour?

I think most people use follow unfollow because it was the original method and generates higher following numbers more quickly, but now IG is more about quality followers. Your settings will depend on your account.
