Hello,

I am seeing something very strange on a page on Facebook from a page with 1.6M likes. They seem to be engaging in really weird growth techniques. They have TONS of public comments of people complaining about receiving notifications from them even if they are not following.

This is the page: http://bit.ly/2I9fNba

Check the comments on the community tab. Anyone know what is happening with this page and what techniques they are using?

Why did you use bitly to tell that
And where is the post in this page that people are complaining about notifications can you link it

I used bitly so they do not get a backlink from this forum. The link is going directly to the community tab of the page where all public comments are.

Good observation. Their video posts are quite interesting but they are certainly using a black hat trick.

i would like to figure it too!

Their videos are engaging enough, especially for millennials. I also have come across such page before. But I agree that it's somewhat a wonder why people receive notifications without them following. I smell some "fresh" tricks here.

Exactly. I agree that their content is pretty good and that it must account for a big part of their growth. However, there is some new tricks here.

Before you go full wannabe Facebook Gurus that page is a (show page )
learn how they work please
there is nothing black hat there everything is white hat and legit
They are limited to only some publishers tho
and linked to a Main (normal page)
From the main page fans auto like the new (show ) page
something like merging

Those pages upload videos only (episodes) and they are eligible for in feed video ads monetization

their reach is tremendous high

PS:
not show category pages that you can choose when you create a new page :P

Do you know what the "Main page" is for that page?

I came across that page before some days around 10 and it had a main page linked to it now it seems i can't find it
maybe it got unpublished
maybe they unlinked it...
but i've liked a lot of similar pages (show pages )
this page for example (show page )
https://www.facebook.com/ricklaxhasfriends/

is linked to this :
https://www.facebook.com/realRickLax/

you can see the linked page here
http://prntscr.com/iojpl9

there is no point to dig anything out 'cause honestly there is nothing black hat or any kind of trick !

Here is the link to sign up :
https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/showpageinquiry

this is the way to do it
there are no work arounds or any other bullshit someone may mention

In order to get approved some say you need to reside in USA (well that is a factor) but the main factors are you need to be BIG/LEGIT and live in USA

i managed to get approved for 1 show page from that link and i do not live in USA

IF you try to register and they deny your request simple get over it applying all over again and again and again wont make them approve you cause some people think that way :P

This year from what i hear it will be easier to sign up there

Oh and keep in mind that if you break 1 single Rule for those pages it will get terminated faster than an adsense account will with a 90's clickjack on the site

all seems legit, it's just show/episodes page with extra reach since it's a new feature. do not panic.

@Unvirginator: Thanks for the research. So you believe that some people already liked their "Main page" and when they created a show page, they automatically followed that new page and that's why they are getting notifications?

the point is that we need to know if the people get notification event that they don't follow this page
