Multiple people reporting that Binance randomly sold all their alt coins at market rate, and then bought BTC or some other coin for them.

The 1000% spike in VIA coin price appears tied to this error.

Binance admitted they are investigating the reports. If you keep your coins on the exchange rather than a hardware wallet, might want to double check your portfolio.

Binance are trying to say its the way users have configured their APIs.

Funny, I just sold about $2k of my BTC portfolio earlier today for fiat. I guess I got away lucky.

Just logged in and my alts are still the same, so either they have fixed it or it is not effecting all users. Anyone here actually been impacted?

I think that it's the API problem with trading enabled. My account is fine.

I might be, but quite a few people are reporting the error without using bots or APIs.

What happened was a third party was hacked that people were using for automated trading, the third party had their data bases hacked and all the binance apis taken as well. However these api keys did not have withdrawl functions, so in order to get the money form these accounts this is what the hackers did. They first, sold all the altcoins on the users accounts. Next they bought VIA for cheap on their personal binance accounts After that they used all their hacked api keys to buy VIA up to around 100x. After that they sold all their VIA for around 100x gains. Then they could withdraw the BTC from their accounts, and the hacked accounts where left with some VIA.
