[QUESTION] How do i resurrect a trend?

Like I wrote in the title, I would like to ask how can I resurrect a trend that was quite popular before but now has died, something like VINE, but it's not in that niche is just to use as an example, or like Nike that is reviving some 90's shoes to the kids now.

Sorry if for you it's a stupid question but I was brain storming ideas before so these came up, I will be happy to read a thoughtful answer from you if you have one.

The purpose of marketing is to tap into existing trends, needs, wants and desires and ride the momentum. Trying to create (revive, what have you) a trend is *almost* impossible - even throwing millions of dollars at it usually won't work unless luck is on your side (i.e. pet rocks).

I really appreciate the time you spent to answer my question, but still I want to at least try and see what happens, there's still some interest in it but not so much like before, i don't want to let this idea pass by so I'll jump into it, but always remembering your advices before it becomes too late.

best to discover the initial waves of trends before they reach their apex. aka early adopter.
