A general rule I like to follow is to not listen to anyone selling a course or program. They make money from selling the course, not from whatever BS is contained inside.

It's not too difficult to learn yourself if you break it up into small pieces. There really isn't just one way. List out all of the different steps and research them one by one. Example:
1. Choosing a niche. Choose something you enjoy or at least something you can stand reading and/or writing about constantly.
2. Setting up a domain and hosting
3. Building a WordPress site
4. Signing up to affiliate/CPA networks
5. Writing and/or buying content
6. SEO
7. Promoting on social media
People sometimes look at affiliate marketing as a whole and have no idea where to start so they shell out money for someone to break it down like I just did. Do one step at a time and you'll be pro in no time. When you get some experience you can go more advanced, like collecting emails and setting up an autoresponder.
I'm not sure of your knowledge level but I know some people have a tough idea picturing what an affiliate site is even supposed to look like. If this is you, you can ask marketplace sellers for samples or even just google it http://lmgtfy.com/?q=what+does+an+affiliate+website+look+like

Although I can understand why you look at him like that as I did too but you have to look at him as a fellow marketer and he is one of the best marketers out there.
I partially agree but I particularly disagree too. Sure there are a lot of shorty courses out there but there are also a lot of good courses out there.
If you start learning to drive, learning to become a butcher, welder, car salesman etc you need to study and it usually comes in a form of paid courses or/and a paid mentor.
Can you look up all these things from the internet? Sure but you would learn faster from the right course/mentor.
Same with IM. Some suck and some are good.

You are correct but I say general rule to allow for some flexibility. There are literally thousands of pieces of crap for every one piece of gold. It's tough for newbies to spot something genuinely valuable through all of the hype and promises. Chasing the dream this way can get expensive.
Also, with some of your examples, there is required certification to teach them. Online anyone can become an expert just by saying so.

there will always be people buyig shit they don't need, some times i see it as a big pyramid scheme, with facbook youtubr instasgram webhosting pulling the strings, they're all big influencers and sometimes got to see what theyre peddling.lots have got the backing of you tube inst etc etc.
don't think theres no magic way only get your shit out there and promote, someones going to like it, look at that dapper guy his shits shit and now hes on bbc3

Now I never used titles like " Earn easy $10000 a month" BS, I got a different approach, I say it how it is. You could earn $10000 a month but it sure as hell won't be easy.
You know what the irony of that is as I tested it on IG, If I use the first one I get more interaction than when I'm being honest. So if people don't want honesty, fuck em.
But yeah, I see a lot of these shit WSO courses with super clickbait titles "Check This Awesome New Secret Blueprint That Will Make You $352 a Day!!!" then a whole salespage and bullshit and then when I scroll down to see the price...$9.95... Get the fuck outta here!!! But it obviously works as they keep popping up.
I am more straight to the point, not sugar coating shit but unfortunately most people like being fed dreams and fake crap. Which is also part of marketing, they do it on TV every day.
Now currently on Istack there is a 6 weeks live seminar going on and I know it has very valuable info but it's $2995.

Have to give it up to istack, expensive but worth it.
I think the 3k price tag is not that bad, that is cheaper than what I pay per subject as an international student, and we have to pay 24 full courses to get a bachelor degree.

You are looking at it wrongly. Yeah courses with a clickbait title "Earn from $0 to $386 in 3 days" which I just found somewhere, I scroll down, price $7.95 yeah these are absolute bullshit. But I posted several methods for free on this forum and you can make a LOT of money with it but it will take a LOT of work
It's not always about money also, I can be about certain skills that will help you in the future too.
For me ATM it's tracking, I don't understand shit of tracking so got a course for that to help me learn the basics

Never heard of those guys, but depends on how you look at it. Most courses are bs. Some aren't. Those that aren't are a shortcut to learning. You can spend few weeks researching the topic yourself, trial/error,.....or have someone who claims to have done it successfully compact everything into a book/video.
Once you see a few of them you'll have a sixth sense on spotting the junk from the maybe-it's-not-junk stuff.
With that being said...I bought several courses over the years....majority of them disappointing / rehashed bhw threads.

I'm very reluctant to pay for a course because sometimes they are really expensive and I don't have the money now to experiment but surely experience helps a lot.

learn above paid advertising , then join maxbounty and bank hard .
of course your need to learn hosting and domain and landing pages .
but i promise , converting paid traffic works really well .
your never look back as it always be around , and no seo needed at all.
you might want to look at split testing aswell to make maxinum profit.
once you master getting traffic paid or free then convesion come easly on any project i promise .
there no magic money making course it all bullshit.

Interesting thread.....yeah its confusing for us newbs.....lots of info out there. Hard to trust sometimes what is crap info n what is good '2018 relevant' info. Stumbled across a few youtube vids today about blogging methods. One was free info with a free ebook and tge other was a 1 hr vid....gave some interesting info that i found helpful (as a noob) but then offered a full in depth course for like 500 bux.
I guess its good to read/watch all sorts of stuff n make our own methods/plan
