Is it possible to hide or mask your backlinks?

Hi,

I was just wondering if it's possible to hide or mask your backlinks from tools like ahrefs? The reason i ask is because i've found a site that is ranking numner 1 for a really competitive keyword and i wanted to reverse engineer his backlinks but according to ahrefs he only has 9 backlinks which i find hard to believe. His website is:

http://get-iphone7.top/

The reason this of interest to me as is because i am trying to rank for the same keywords he is.

Any ideas peeps?

Yes many people block crawlers from Ahrefs and other bots

Thanks for your reply i guess you can block these crawlers then from getting your backlinks. Is there any other way of finding a sites backlinks if they have blocked crawlers like ahrefs and majestic SEO?

LRT does not respect robots or httaccess, you can reverse any backlink profile with it.

Looks like it was explained in the other thread, that he is probably using a PBN hidden links.
TBH you could spend lot's of time trying to find his links and it has a lot of competition, why not try something easier?

I can understand what you are saying i could try and go after something that is easier. But from my perspective this guys making a killing. He's ranking number 1 for the keyword 'free iphone 7' which is getting 10K to 100K searches per month according to googles keyword tool and all he's doing is running a content locker and people are filling out a surveys and getting nothing in return. That's why i wanted to get in this niche.

Yes but it will probably cost you serious money to compete with him and as there is lots of competition it will take time too. (I haven't checked)

Understood but what other alternatives have i got? Smaller keywords get less searches so the earning potential is less as well. Am just tired of making small fries in the online world i wanted to go after something a bit more challenging but maybe i've punched above my weight on this one. I've also tried LRT tool and it's still showing 7 backlinks which am sure i not right.
